The Unusual Side of Prague

About the Czech...

To keep in mind when going to Prague

A few « rules » (which, fortunately, are not always true) to understand better the Czech :

  • They do no talk when eating– indeed, children are taught not to speak with food in the mouth. If you are with typical Czech, do not expect a 2-hour lunch.
  • They take off their shoes at home – and so do their guests. It is inconceivable to walk on the carpet with shoes.
  • The shop assistants are likely to be not very smiling – it is a communist inheritage when people were quiet in public and focused on their private life. But this is less and less frequent.
